This week weighed heavily on me, and I spent my days mostly working and nights mostly in recluse. But better days are coming. Like Winter.
READING / READING ONLINE
I might as well substitute Currently Reading with Currently Reading Online since that's what I have been doing lately.
Life Advice in 50 Beloved Characters from Kid's Entertainment. I always teach my nieces to "Have courage and be kind" Cinderella 2015 style, but my personal favorite from the list is Edna Mode's "I never look back, darling. It distracts from the now." You? Sometimes I also secretly whisper "Remember who you are, Simba..." to myself. Inspiring stuff.
In the Pink: Mindy Kaling is the New Queen of American Comedy. Obviously an old article. But I find myself reading up on writers whose writing style I want to emulate. Obviously, I want to be like Mindy Kaling - writing-wise but Mindly Lahiri fashion-wise. I cannot live on blacks, whites, and grays alone. This girl needs print on print on print fashion layers.
When to splurge or save on cosmetics and skincare. I am totally on board with Liz's splurge-save technique. Check out her blog post to know which beauty products you should invest your money on.
Tomorrowland. Part dystopian/utopian, love story (not between George Clooney and Britt Robertson), environmentalist. Loads of adventure and retro sci-fi. Mostly confused. I understand that the movie is a summer season opener, so it tries to be a lot of things, but I wish it just stuck to one story line and not try to be everything for the family.
|Most heartbreaking scene in the movie. Also what turned on the waterworks for me.|
Watch Jurassic World this weekend! Jurassic Park is one of those landmark movies that I've never forgotten as a child, and I can't wait to watch it again with my family like it was 1991. Yes, I saw the first movie in the cinema. So like a geek who has a "Here's what I love, let me share it with you" and not a hipster "Here's what I love, stay away from it" mentality (Pop Culture Happy Hour, 2014), I can't wait for all of you watch it so we can spaz together!
This spaceman wall art in Bonifacio Global City! Check out the man on the lower right of this picture for size reference. It's on my driving route to work and it cheers me up every time I see it. I saw on Instagram that there are more like this around BGC, so I'm going to make it my life's mission to see all of them. Don't you just love BGC? We don't get things like these in Makati or Cavite.
And that's about it for my week. How was yours?
I'm also on Twitter, Pinterest, and Instagram, if you want to connect ;)
