Dinner with the @beautyatPOC girls

After exchanging ideas, comments on blogs, and tweets with each other, I finally got to meet the girls of POC’s Beauty and Fashion Channel. I must admit I was a bit nervous because I am always clumsy and awkward when it comes to such social situations. Good thing I already met some of them during the Sony event, so it was easy for me to warm up to them.

The “Magic” of Eyebrow Shaping

Before I started going gaga over make-up, the one thing that I really spent money on are my eyebrows. I was not blessed with a well-shaped pair so I take it as a duty to have it constantly trimmed and shaped the right way. I have tried all sorts of beauty parlors– both high-end and cheap ones – and just like haircuts, it really does depend on your eyebrow threader’s skill and not on where you have it done.

For the past year, I have been shaping my eyebrows, plucking a bit here and there just to maintain its shape. But lately, it seems as if my eyebrow-shaping skills are not doing me any good no matter how many DIY articles I read. That’s when I decided to have my brows grow so a professional can do it.

D for Death at A1913 and C for Canada

At the risk of sounding like a bad Sex and the City rip off, I once read that a girl only needs three things to make it in this life: good shoes, good food, and good friends. I'm not sure if I already have the first two parts down, but I am pretty convinced that I already have the last one covered.

I'm never really vocal about how awesome my friends are, but I guess this is the right time to tell them that they are. More so that one of them is leaving for Canada and will not be back for (technically) 3 years!

I haven't given it much thought before, dismissing 3 years as just 3 years, but blame it on John Mayer and a night of playing Why Georgia on a loop

Everybody is just a stranger but
that's the danger in going my own way
I guess it's the price I have to pay
for sadness to finally get into me. Companions and acquaintances I have a lot, but it's friends that I barely have.

So last Monday, barely a few days before Camille flies off to Canada, we've scheduled a modest pizza night with just the four of us in a bare condominium unit.

A view I shared with four of the best people in my life *nux*!

Forever 21

What was left for us mere fashion mortals.
You've probably read my tweets and gagged on how excited I was over a measly clothing line, but I don't care. As much as I also think that lining up for something seemingly ridiculous IS ridiculous, I, also, do not care. I love Forever 21 and you won't believe how many times I've wished and sighed longingly at their website for this brand to finally get to The Third World.

Let's get Naked!

I've always been a fan of anything Urban Decay ever since I got the Alice in Wonderland palette. But although Alice is a great collection of colors and glitters, I must admit that I haven't utilized it a lot. To be quite honest, I am still apprehensive of using too much colors and I am not as adventurous with make-up as others might be.

Even so, Urban Decay's Sin has always been my go-to eyeshadow when I am pressed for time to experiment with color combinations and shading techniques. I love it so much that I asked for relatives to send me a full pot of it even if it costs $17 each. It still hasn't reached my hands yet as my grandmother's scheduled to go home on August. Albeit the wait, I think this came out as blessing in disguise because lo and behold, Urban Decay just announced a great palette that includes my favorite shade and more!
